Dear visitors to the 47th Chorin Music Summer 2010
As in every year we are delighted to be able to offer an exciting musical repertoire comprising established and known works, along with something new, and no doubt a few surprises. The repertoire ranges from early Baroque to Modern Classical, presented by our house orchestras from Berlin and Frankfurt (Oder) as well as guest orchestras from Vienna, Leipzig, Dresden, Halle, Prenzlau and Bonn. As guest choir here in Chorin, you can look forward to the highly celebrated Regenburger Domspatzen.
Impressive opening and closing concerts should enthrall us – Verdi's Requiem and Bruckner's 8th Symphony. The range of composers and soloists represented at the music summer can be seen in our programme- Beethoven, Mozart and Mahler are prominently featured. You will be able to experience a few surprises thanks to the 2008 celebrated „ Hoch- und Deutschmeistern“ from Vienna, the Brass Ensemble of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, as well as a colourful musical feast provided by the Brandenburg State Orchestra (Frankfurt).
Our committment to nurturing the next generation of musical talent from our own music schools was so well received in the performances of youg musicians last year , that this year we can look forward to more young talent with the National Youth Orchestra.
The Chorin Music Summer is, as we experience every year, not only close to the hearts of the organisers , but also to our visitors. So we would like to invite you to become members of the Chorin Music Summer Association. By doing this you can support the existence and the further development of our festival. Finally, we hope to be able to count on your continued loyalty as visitors, we look forward to the coming season of music, and just hope the weather is a little warmer and drier on the concert weekends than it was in 2009.
You are warmly welcome!
